After generating a song
Edit an AI song in a DAW: audio stems or MIDI?
Start with what you want to change. Lowering a guitar in the mix needs audio; rewriting its melody needs editable notes. MeluMimi provides separate browser tools for these tasks. Keep an authorized original and choose only the steps your project needs.
Each tool shows its current file limits, preview options and quote. The steps are separate; use only those you need.
Choose the file you need
Adjust a vocal or instrument in the mix
Use a selected audio stem and its remaining mix. They retain recorded sound; they are not editable note events.
Change pitches, rhythm or the instrument sound
Use a .mid file with a software instrument. For a crowded mix, isolate the required part first, listen, then upload it to MIDI conversion yourself.
Prepare an audio file your editor accepts
Use format conversion only when needed. A WAV converted from MP3 does not restore lost detail or create MIDI.

1. Keep the source and check available exports
Use a song you own or are allowed to process. Keep its original file and any original stems or MIDI. Suno documents stem and MIDI exports; if those already meet your editing goal, use them directly. Check the current export options in your account.
2. Separate the part only if you need audio isolation
In MeluMimi, choose a supported vocal or instrument target and listen to the preview. A selected target and the remaining mix are two audio outputs. Additional targets require separate processing. Check bleed, missing attacks and artifacts before full extraction.
3. Turn a useful musical part into notes
For piano-focused audio choose piano transcription; for other musical material compare MeluMimi Lyra, Aria, Muse and Opus. The results are independent alternatives. Stem separation and MIDI conversion are separate manual steps. A complete song is not guaranteed to become a correctly labeled multitrack MIDI arrangement.
4. Import audio and MIDI into the right tracks
Put stems on audio tracks at the same start position. Put .mid on a MIDI track and assign a software instrument. Keep a reference audio track. Compare a short passage before changing tempo or quantizing; check pitches, missing or extra notes, lengths and velocity.
5. Check the project before exporting
Listen to the beginning, a transition and the ending. Check alignment, clipping, stem bleed and MIDI timing. Keep the original file, stem audio, MIDI and DAW project separately. A successful download confirms a file was delivered, not that every note or isolated sound is correct.
Common questions
Can MeluMimi generate the original song?
Its current tools process audio you provide. This workflow does not generate a new song from a text prompt.
Does MIDI preserve the AI song's voice or guitar tone?
No. MIDI contains musical events; its playback sound comes from your chosen instrument. Keep the original or separated audio when you need that recorded sound.
Is there an automatic Suno-to-MeluMimi connection?
No account connection is required here. Download an authorized file yourself, upload it to the relevant tool and move the results between tools manually.
Should I denoise the whole song first?
Speech denoising is intended for spoken recordings such as interviews. It is not a required step for music transcription or stem separation. Processing can change details, so do not add an unnecessary cleanup stage.
Will I receive a finished PDF score or MusicXML?
This MIDI workflow provides .mid, not a finished PDF score or MusicXML. Notation needs a compatible notation editor and manual checks.
